What is Florida Statement?
Dance Marathon at FSU is making a Statement!
We aim to raise $404,000 in 26.2 hours for children in need of specialized pediatric care.
During this time we ask all of our fundraisers, sponsors and donors to fundraise with us as we work towards this goal #NoMatterWhat as we make our Statement!
Begin: 9:00am November 9th
End: 11:12am November 10th
Our goal of raising $404,000 represents the 1 in 4 children born with a congenital heart disease who will need heart surgery or other interventions to survive.
Some of our miracle kids have been diagnosed with the following conditions:
Hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) - A severe congenital heart defect in which the left side of the heart is underdeveloped
Ventricular septal defect (VSD) - A birth defect of the heart in which there is a hole in the wall (septum) that separates the two lower chambers (ventricles) of the heart
Partial anomalous pulmonary venous return (PAPVR) - A condition where some of the pulmonary veins return to the right side of the heart, instead of going to the left atrium
Some of our Miracle kids have also undergone the following procedures:
Heart transplant - An operation in which a diseased, failing heart is replaced with a healthier donor heart
Berlin Heart - A device which mechanically supports the hearts of patients with end-stage heart failure by pumping blood around the body in order to keep the brain and other organs healthy

What is Dance Marathon?
Dance Marathon is a year long student-led initiative which aims to raise funds for children in need of specialized pediatric medical care that is otherwise not available to them locally.
At Florida State, our movement culminates into a 30-hour event where over 1,800 students stay awake and on their feet "For The Kids"!
We are the largest student-run organization at Florida State University and the third largest Dance Marathon program in the country!
