A Season For Shands

As we look forward to ringing in 2018 a few days from now, Dance Marathon at Florida State University has kicked off its winter fundraiser - A Season for Shands! From December 27 to January 5, Dance Marathon at FSU will be working to bring light to the mission of Shands Children’s Hospital, which is our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital located in Gainesville, Florida. Its mission is based on providing compassionate care, exceptional education, research, and community service to every patient regardless of their financial situation.

Join us as we work to fundraise over the course of 10 days. For every $4,000 DM at FSU raises, one hospital floor will be symbolically lit to honor the pediatric patients who are not able to spend the holiday season with their friends and family at home. It’s Up to Us to shine light on the cause that we hold so close during this time of giving.

Make sure to follow our social media accounts to keep tabs on our efforts, receive fundraising materials and hear from various Miracle Children and their families. Discover how they are personally impacted by the work that is done at Shands, and how this beneficiary brings hope and joy to the kids this time of year.

A number of incentives will be offered as motivation to individual dancers and fundraisers, as well as entire teams. Those who personally raise $100 over the course of the 10 day campaign will receive an invitation to an exclusive Shands experience, which includes a behind-the-scenes tour, complimentary lunch, Bravery Beads activity with our Miracle Families, in addition to more bonding with our families afterwards at a local park in Gainesville. This Shands trip is like nothing you’ve ever seen or heard of before.
