Leave Your Legacy 2023, Dance Marathon at FSU’s biggest fundraiser of the Spring semester has come to a close. Leave Your Legacy allows our participants to prove to the FSU campus and surrounding community how big of an impact our organization makes. This year, Leave Your Legacy was focused on the support our beneficiaries provide for respiratory diseases & illness at both Shands Children’s Hospital and in the greater Tallahassee area. From January 25-26, our organization came together to leave an everlasting legacy of hope, faith, and miracles.

We experienced a large sense of community, time with family, and so much love during these two days. During this push, we asked our participants to reflect on how they wanted to leave their legacy. We asked Family Relations Chair, Britney LaBorde, about how she leaves her legacy at FSU. Britney explained that she leaves her legacy by seeing the first-hand impact that Dance Marathon at FSU has on our miracle children and families. Throughout her four years in Dance Marathon, Britney has had the opportunity to see the impact that our organization has had through her visits to UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital and the FSU College of Medicine.

This year, Leave Your Legacy started at 3:00 pm on January 25 and closed with our total reveal at 9:30 pm on January 26. We started leaving our legacy at 3:00 pm and were excited to get this fundraising push started! Throughout the afternoon, we were able to shout out to top fundraising internal participants, external participants, and organizations.

On day two of Leave Your Legacy, participants fundraised as much as possible participating in power hour, fundraising faceoff, and matching hour. Throughout the entire day, we were on Landis Green with fun activities including the gong, arts and crafts, merchandise, and so much more! At 9 p.m. Leave your Legacy was officially over, and we headed over to Langford Green for total reveal. The total reveal, held in person and streamed virtually on Instagram and Facebook, announced that during Leave Your Legacy, Dance Marathon at FSU had collectively raised $75,943.36!

We want to thank every single person who donated, participated, or contributed in any way to our cause. You are the reason why we are able to leave our legacy on the FSU campus and are able to help the lives of the miracle children we hold so close to our hearts. We have made it through the toughest of times, have come out stronger, and will always show up together. Our fourth annual Leave Your Legacy was a success and proved that no matter what, we have left our legacy on the FSU campus and Dance Marathon at FSU.
