A Look at Leave Your Legacy 2023
On January 25th and 26th, DM at FSU will host our fourth annual Leave Your Legacy fundraising event. Leave Your Legacy is a two-day fundraising initiative where we raise awareness on Landis Green and beyond for those who need us most. This event puts an emphasis on how we, as a community, can Leave Our Legacy on DM at FSU as well as the FSU campus. This year, Leave Your Legacy will be focused on the support our beneficiaries provide for respiratory diseases & illness at both Shands and in the Tallahassee community.
Leave Your Legacy will start on Wednesday, January 25 at 3 p.m., and finish on Thursday, January 26 at 9 p.m. DM at FSU has planned programming for students on campus, as well as share-its at Little Masa and Solle’s pizza so that the entire community can participate. On January 25th, programming includes our notable Gong on Tour. The gong is the heartbeat of our organization and travels around to all of the chapter facilities and participating organizations on campus. By hitting the gong, fundraisers are recognized for their amazing fundraising efforts! Following the tour, Little Masa will host a share-it from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., with a portion of the proceeds supporting LYL. To honor one of our Miracle Children, Izabella, there will be an overnight fundraising effort from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. The goal is to raise as many funds as possible to support kids with similar experiences to Izabella.
On January 26, DM at FSU will host programming on Landis Green from 9 a.m. to 4 pm. Programming includes College of Medicine beneficiaries tabling, merchandise, fundraising assistance, friendly competition, and fun arts and crafts for participants. After the events on Landis, there is another share-it event at Solle’s Pizza from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. to conclude the final hours of Leave your Legacy. Once the fundraising push is over, the total reveal will take place at 9:30 p.m. on Langford Green, as well as live-streamed on DM at FSU’s Facebook and Instagram.
One aspect of Leave Your Legacy that makes it unique from all of our other fundraising events is that we will be providing LIVE number updates. Updates will include the fundraising total for each day of Leave Your legacy, the number of people who have hit dancer commitment ($250), top fundraisers, as well as some fun announcements throughout the day. We are so excited to Leave Our Legacy on January 25th and 26th, which officially marks 36 days until our Year 28 marathon! Hope to see you all there!
